Median Earnings in the Past 12 Months

Measurement Period: 2021
This indicator shows median earnings in the past 12 months for adults (25 years and older) with an income.

Why is this important?

Higher earnings are linked to better health. Individuals and households with higher yearly income have better access to healthy foods, employment options, quality schools, healthcare, and safe neighborhoods and housing.
Educational attainment can have a major impact on yearly earnings. Those with professional degrees can make 2-3x more a year than those without a high school diploma. This can be due to several factors, including better employment opportunities, higher paying occupations, geographic location, experience, and hours worked.
