Voter Registration

This indicator shows the percentage of adults that were registered to vote in the last presidential election.

Why is this important?

Voter registration is a strong indication of civic engagement. Citizens who are registered to vote tend to be more informed and active participants in the community. Voting ensures that all citizens have the opportunity to voice their opinions on issues such as the use of tax dollars, civil rights and foreign policy.
